Check comprehension
AS A PARENT OR A TEACHER, YOU CAN PROMOTE A CHILD'S COMMUNICATION SKILLS BY USING THE FOLLOWING TIPS:
Speak with your child at a moderate rate; not too fast, not too slow.
Point and use gestures and facial expressions whenever appropriate.
Encourage your child whenever he/she initiates conversation or asks questions.
Enthusiastically communicate with your child using body language.
Check that your child understands what you say.
Hearing your child's voice isn't enough. You have to LISTEN.
